Do you struggle every time to look for the perfect birthday gift for different people in every age group? Here’s a short list to help you out when that time comes.
Kids
Kids are very honest. When they don’t like a gift, they will tell you. That’s why it’s so hard to buy stuff for them that they’ll like. Clothes will be an easy solution but not exactly what they like. Toys are tricky since not all kids go for the popular toys automatically. The best solution: ask the parents, ask what the kids are like and use that information. If the kids like to play outdoor, give them sports gifts, like basketballs, baseball bats and balls (plastic ones are fine). Or give them science kits with magnifying glasses that they can use to explore the outdoors. Dolls and stuffed toys are a popular choice for girls, as well as make-up and jewelry-making kits. If you want to be uncommon and impersonal, try an arts and crafts kit.
Teens
If it’s hard to buy gifts for kids, it’s even harder for teens. Sometimes, the best gifts for them are cash or gift certificates to their favorite store. But if you don’t like that and love giving gifts, then it’s best to give them items that’ll accompany the stuff they already have. Give them USB flash drives in different designs. Or a unique and personalized alarm clock to help them get up in the morning.
Twenty-somethings
At this time in their life, twenty-somethings are trying to adjust to a new chapter in their life. It’ll be best to help them out at this point. New bags and office supplies will work. Vacations, small breaks, anything that’s considered a luxury and a perk will be appreciated especially since these twenty-somethings are not yet earning enough to afford this.
Young Mothers
Anything for the kids will help immensely. But don’t forget them, too. Give them something they need, too, especially for the young mothers. Give them spa essentials, which includes bubble bath sets, bath salts, shower gels, shampoos, manicure and pedicure sets or better yet, give them a whole day at the spa.
Older People
At this point in their lives, they’ve had everything and they’ve done almost anything. The best gift to give them: something new and something they’ve never done before. Or at least something they haven’t done in awhile, like booking them a private dinner cruise or a romantic weekend for two.
What do you suggest for these age groups? What are the kinds of gifts you’d like to get for your birthday?
