When you think about it, April Fool’s Day has the same concept. It is a day full of pranks and tricks, somewhat like Halloween, but without the candy. Although you won’t get the enormous amount of candy you do every year on Halloween, you can still make April Fool’s Day a great day every year with the right pranks.

On April Fool’s Day, all you need is couple of excellent pranks to make your day sweet and fulfilling. First of all, these pranks are best kept in the family, because your family members are the closest to you. It is also important to know the pranks that will work the best on your family during dinner time, because that is usually where everyone gets together and all your family members can witness the glory of your prank (and your genius).

One of the best dinner pranks on April Fool’s day are fake dud spuds, as many call them. We all know that potatoes are great dishes to enjoy, I mean look at the options: French fries, mashed potatoes, potatoes wedges. That’s why the prank of dud spuds will make such a great side dish and also a one-of-a-kind surprise on your dinner table on April 1st. To make the fake dud studs, you will need nude-colored nylons, pillow batting, needle, thread, scissors, and yellow craft foam.

Now here are instructions on how to turn all these materials into laughter at the dinner table on April Fool’s Day:

1. For each potato that you are going to make, take about 7-9 inches of nude-colored nylons and stuff them with pillow batting.

2. Twist both ends of nude-colored nylons to the bottom part of the fake potato and then use needle and thread to sew them together tightly to the bottom of the fake dud spuds.

3. Now, for each of the dud spuds, we need to use the thread of the potato from the very bottom part of the potato to the top and back through again. Create about 3-4 eyes so that the fake dud spuds are actually believable.

4. Pull the needle out of the bottom and knot the thread to secure the sewing.

5. Lastly, cut a slit on the top of the potato using scissors and put the yellow craft foam on top to make it look like a delicious butter dud spuds.

This prank usually takes a hour or more to do, but it is worth the chuckles and amused looks that you are going to get from your family on April 1st.

April 1 is coming soon, and you know what that means? APRIL FOOL’S! Yes, that one day where we can play a prank or joke on our family and/or friends and blame it on a holiday.

So, what are some silly, harmless pranks you can play on anyone?

Rig The Sprayer

Put a rubber band around the spray nozzle so it stays down. When your victim turns on the faucet, he’ll be in for a surprise!

A Classic Prank

Drop a dollar on the ground and stay somewhere hidden nearby. Be sure to have a piece of cloth with you. When someone comes to pick up the dollar, rip the cloth loudly. She’ll surely check to see if she ripped her clothes!

Confetti Shower

If it’s raining, put some confetti in your victim’s umbrella and wait for him to open it.

Running Late

While your victim’s asleep, reset the alarm clock two hours ahead. When she wakes up she’ll panic and automatically think she’s late for school or work.

Unraveling

Find a spool of thread the same color as your shirt and put in your pocket. Be sure to leave some thread hanging out. Your victim will notice this and attempt to remove the loose thread from your shirt. But instead, it’ll just unravel and unravel.

Sweet Tooth

Replace the contents of a tube of toothpaste with frosting. Empty out the contents and fill it with frosting using a decorating bag. Your victim will be in for a sweet surprise.

No matter how you celebrate April Fool’s Day, be sure to keep it harmless. It’s definitely no fun when your victim feels harassed.

More importantly, enjoy April Fool’s Day!

April Fool’s Day is one of those amusing and enjoyable holidays that does not warrant a gift or a day off from work or school. It is just fun and provides an opportunity for some harmless mischief!

The origins of April Fool’s Day, which is sometimes referred to as All Fool’s Day, is not well documented in history. In fact, no one really knows when it got its start. April Fool’s Day has evolved from a number of different cultures and is a holiday that continues to be celebrated in many different places in the world.

Some trace the earliest history of the holiday back to France in the year 1582. Before that year, the new year was celebrated for a period of seven days, starting on March 25 with the celebration coming to a close on April 1st. Charles IX decided to reform the calendar, and it became the Gregorian calendar, which is the one we still use today. New Year’s Day became January 1st.

However, news traveled very slowly in those days, and there were many people who did not know that the calendar had been changed and therefore continued to celebrate as they always had. Yet others stubbornly refused to accept the changes.

Anyone who fit into either of the categories mentioned in the previous paragraph was considered to be fools by the rest of the general population because they would not conform. They were ridiculed and laughed at. Many of these individuals were sent on what were known as “fools errands”, and many others became the victim of any number of practical jokes.

This harassment always took place on April 1st, and it eventually turned into a tradition of jokes and pranks that spread beyond France. England and Scotland adopted the tradition in the 18th century while the English and French living in the American colonies adopted it later on.

Different countries celebrate April Fool’s Day in accordance with whatever type of humor is known to the region. For example, in Scotland the day is celebrated over a period of two days. The second day is called Taily Day, and all jokes are related to the posterior of the body.

Here’s hoping you won’t get fooled on April 1st! Happy April Fool’s Day to you!
